Lucy

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

This is a reference letter for Ms. Lisa Skidd, an experienced and extremely competent and compassionate dog behavioral specialist. While Lisa has been handling, training and caring for dogs for many years, our personal experience with her over the past two (2) years has been unique.

We rescued a small but strong pit bull terrier/lab mix over a year and a half ago from a Hernando County rescue organization. Lucy had been severely abused and was afraid of people and n…Read More

RE: Lisa Skidd Referral

To Whom It May Concern:

I have worked with Lisa Skidd in what I call “Dog Class”, in both private and classroom scenarios, and have found her to be professional, effective, results-oriented and a strong educator.

“Dog Class” is a tern that I use to describe something more than a traditional obedience course, because Lisa uses a holistic approach to enabling a dog to be a better-behaved, mannered and socialized family member.  She can, of course, teach a ‘sit’ and…Read More

Ben

Hi,

This is the story of Ben.  He is a black shepard/lab/dane mix, about 110 lbs.  I adopted Ben from a shelter when he was 11 months old.   It was his second time there.  I don’t know what he had been through but he didn’t know how to play.  Jumped and chewed on people and was very aggressive to other dogs.  The first trainer I took him to would not put him in  a class with other dogs because of his size and aggressive behavior.  After several private classes she advised me that he was total…Read More

Ami

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter on behalf of Lisa Skidd.  We had the pleasure of meeting Lisa approximately 7 months ago as we embarked on a mission to train our 6 month old Newfoundland puppy,  Amadeus.  It was love a first sight.  Almost immediately, Ami felt the love and compassion that Lisa shared.  That was our indicator that Lisa was the trainer for us.  Beyond her compassion she is extremely knowledgeable and informative as it relates to her training skills….Read More

To Whom It May Concern:

Lisa Skidd is a wonderful trainer.  She’s calm, cool and collected no matter what the dogs and the people are up to.  I’ve seen her work wonders with quite a few dogs.  I’ve seen dogs that were unfriendly to other dogs become very nice with other dogs.  I’ve seen dogs and puppies learn basic obedience commands over the course of 8 weeks.  I’ve seen happy and proud dog owners who have been through her classes.

My first experience with Lisa was more than a year ago. …Read More

Wrigley and Turner

Dear Lisa:

I just wanted to drop you a short note to thank you for all of your time and effort with Wrigley and Turner.  Both dogs have improve greatly since they started training with you.  They obviously were very comfortable while in your home, because they now get so excited when we enter your neighborhood or I tell them we are going to see you.

The most remarkable turnaround has definitely been with Wrigley.  Somehow, you took a distrustful, aggressive dog that had been abused and aba…Read More

I inquired about a board and train program for a rescue dog that we recently adopted. Lisa responded to my email promptly. We followed up with a detailed conversation on my objectives and what Lisa thought were attainable goals for my dog in the time frame outlined. She explained the training methods used and we were relieved to hear that our dog would be a member of Lisa's household, while boarding there. Lisa offered helpful advice on acclimating the new dog into our household, which we immediately implemented. Our plans subsequently changed, and we canceled the board & train program (for now). I would definitely recommend Lean With Jenza and would consider using them in the future.

We were rescued by the cutest little puppy during a charity event.... we knew we had to start training right away! Lisa and Dave were recommended to us and we signed up for Lisa's puppy basics class. We were a mess! However, Lisa is so patient and knowledgeable about training that she was able to pin-point all of the things WE were doing wrong and noticing what worked best for our little guy. We stuck with it, we went as a family and now a year and a half later we are constantly complimented on what a well behaved dog we have. Lisa and Dave do so much more than help train dogs...we have learned how to better communicate with each other. We absolutely love them and their dedication to training.

Lisa and Dave had our 9 mth old puppy, Tyson, for 3 weeks. When we looked into training, we were hopeful but very skeptical as to if our "problem child" was even trainable. Tyson was never aggressive but had absolutely no manners and couldn't even be inside our home with the family without hurting one of us. He was very much like a wild dog... Jumping, digging, had no attention span, didn't listen, would run full force and jump on furniture/people, play very rough with our kids and 10 year old 10 lb dog, etc. He was so rough that he even chipped the vet's tooth jumping up on him when we took him for the last set of shots. He was out of control and we didn't think it was possible to get him under control at all.

Let me tell you, after 3 weeks of Learning with Jenza, he is a completely different dog! His jumping has ceased, he listens to his name, he is calm and can be with us in our home without having to go directly into his crate or hurting one of us, he knows commands and follows them, etc. He is a completely different animal!!

We can't express with words our amazement for what a change this training has been for our family!!! Thank you, Lisa, Dave and family for helping our family live cohesively with our baby boy! We appreciate all of the work you've done with him and with us and look forward to continuing the training at your intermediate classes on the weekends!!
