Basic & Puppy Group Dog Training Classes – 6-Week Obedience Course

Looking for expert dog training near you to help your puppy or young dog become the BEST family member possible? Our Basic & Puppy Group Dog Training Course is a 6-week group class designed to teach essential obedience skills, improve behavior, and build a strong, trusting bond between you and your dog.

This group class also includes foundational behaviors required to prepare your dog for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.

What You’ll Learn in Our 6-Week Dog Training Course:

We start by teaching your dog how to focus and pay attention—because a distracted dog can’t learn! From there, we use positive reinforcement dog training methods to help your dog succeed through clear communication, consistency, and rewards. Our goal is to create a happy, confident, and obedient dog.

Dog Obedience Skills Covered:

• Sit, Sit-Stay (including from 5 feet away)
• Sit while greeting people and other dogs
• Loose leash walking (including around other dogs)
• Come when called on a 6-foot leash
• Heel and walking politely through distractions
• Down and Down-Stay (from 5 feet away)
• Waiting at boundaries like doors, gates, and car doors
• Weekly dog socialization practice

Common Behavior Problems We Address:

• Jumping on people, furniture, or counters
• Teaching “Leave It” and “Drop It” commands
• Place command (go to a designated spot and stay)
• Potty training support
• Excessive barking
• Bathing and grooming handling tips
